Handjerks: “'Synonym Dance' is an attempt to speak about something that is unspeakable. It’s not only a song about the lack of language but also about using unrelated concepts as synonyms – to create relations and experiment with an affective language. So I understand the synonym dance as a celebration of failure. A resistant dance track.”

Swan Meat: "When it comes to remixes, I tend to go all-in and write a new, parallel-dimension version of the track. I had so much fun with this one, because there was so much to work with. Two major influences were my having recently gone to a few techno raves in Cologne with these 'underwater crunchy' soundsystems, as well as the hi-fi 8-bit aesthetic of retro revival games like Shovel Knight. I've struggled to find a place for these kind of sounds in my own music, so I'm really glad to have been able to use them here."
